This interview is with Pat Garofalo, a Republican from District 36B in Minnesota. He’s Chair of the Education Finance Committee in the Minnesota State House. Education is a huge aspect of Minnesota’s history and daily life — the state is actually where the charter school movement began, back in the late 1980s, and towards the end of this interview, you’ll hear some numbers about the percentage of the state budget dedicated to education. It’s staggering — but also awesome.
Here, we talk about some upcoming legislation in the State House, as well as a few other developments and aspects of the gig.
