Episode No. 21: John Neal, Brewpub Owner

John Neal is the founder and owner of Keg and Barrel Brewpub in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Now, I’m based in New York … how exactly did I end up interviewing someone who runs a bar in The Magnolia State? That’s a decent question, and it’s addressed in the first three minutes or so of the interview.

We talk about a lot more — running a beer bar, the crowd you get in the same town as USM, home brewing, favorite kinds of beer (he favors Captain Hardy Stout), Lazy Magnolia Brewery, pigs in backyards, and much more.

What’s This All About?

This is a blog and podcast series about the work we all do: the highs, the lows, the effectiveness, the intrigue, the models, the double speak, and the passion. The point is to have discussions with people in those fields about their life and experiences. And hey, sometimes the stories might be funny, too. In the spring of 2013, the new posts started to fade, but you can find them all on iTunes.
