Dr. David Geier is an orthopedic surgeon and director of the sports medicine program at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has his own podcast, is active on Twitter and is the chief physician for the Family Circle Cup. He’s done work at the pro level, with the St. Louis Rams.

In this interview, we talk about his business, how to prevent injuries, and differences in looking at injuries between a middle schooler and a pro athlete (it’s not that big).

Here’s Geier on a local sports talk show, if you like video:

What’s This All About?

This is a blog and podcast series about the work we all do: the highs, the lows, the effectiveness, the intrigue, the models, the double speak, and the passion. The point is to have discussions with people in those fields about their life and experiences. And hey, sometimes the stories might be funny, too. In the spring of 2013, the new posts started to fade, but you can find them all on iTunes.
