Episode No. 54: Gerry Alanguilan, Comic Book Artist

If you are checking this out via iPad or other device and cannot see the audio player, click here to listen — or just go ahead and subscribe. You know you want to.

Gerry Alanguilan is a famous comic book artist — he’s done work for Marvel and DC Comics, but also is known for his own books, such as Elmer and Wasted. He’s also fairly well-known for his “Hey Baby” videos, although regrettably, I don’t ask him about those in this interview:

When I talked to Gerry, he had just finished Avenging Spider Man No. 5 and was back to work on SuperCrooks.

It’s a short interview, but I think — or at least I hope — you get a sense of the man and his process. I also believe it’s the first international interview this podcast has ever done, so … hey, there’s that.

What’s This All About?

This is a blog and podcast series about the work we all do: the highs, the lows, the effectiveness, the intrigue, the models, the double speak, and the passion. The point is to have discussions with people in those fields about their life and experiences. And hey, sometimes the stories might be funny, too. In the spring of 2013, the new posts started to fade, but you can find them all on iTunes.
