Kevin Knauss worked in irrigation system sales for a while. Eventually, life happened — as it does for all of us — and after the passing of his parents, he was faced with two forks in the road: go into health insurance or … enter the clergy. (Kind of different, no?) He chose health insurance. In this interview, he talks about the state of the industry, the reform movement, who’s making money, and much more. He also has a ridiculously awesome laugh, which you’ll hear during the segment.

You don’t usually think of “health insurance agents” as the most social-media-savvy bunch, but Kevin truly is; and in this interview, he explains exactly why (the answer is both simple and brilliant).

He’s also made the foray into YouTube (his whole channel is here):

  1. What a fun interview Ted. Thank you so much for this. Good information that I hope will help people understand some of the aspects of health care reform. Keep up the great work!

What’s This All About?

This is a blog and podcast series about the work we all do: the highs, the lows, the effectiveness, the intrigue, the models, the double speak, and the passion. The point is to have discussions with people in those fields about their life and experiences. And hey, sometimes the stories might be funny, too. In the spring of 2013, the new posts started to fade, but you can find them all on iTunes.
